As David continues his journey, Shimei curses him and throws stones at him. Although David's men want to stop Shimei, David refuses to take revenge and humbly submits to the possibility that God may use even this suffering for a greater purpose.

Meanwhile, Absalom enters Jerusalem, where Hushai appears to support him while secretly remaining loyal to David. Absalom follows Ahithophel's counsel, publicly taking David's concubines and deepening the rebellion against his father.

Through this chapter, we see key lessons about humility under suffering, the dangers of false accusations, the importance of discernment, resisting revenge, and trusting God when circumstances are painful and uncertain.
