The Google search that convinced her to open the door and die
In this episode, we follow the timeline from a late-night Google search to a staged suitcase and a body found by a septic riser. We track the small decisions, missed records, and local witnesses that shaped the investigation and ask how one search became the thread investigators followed.
Person: Jennifer Baker
Date: August 9-11
Location: Apartment 4B, 14 Seco Street; brush line near Marten's Crossing
Person: Warren Ramsey
Investigator: Darlene Watson
- At 10:22 PM on August 9 Norma Feld saw Jennifer enter Apartment 4B; 29 minutes later Jennifer's phone searched "gas smell apartment what to do."
- No neighbors, utility logs, or work orders recorded any gas complaint at 14 Seco Street before or after that search.
- At approximately 11:00 AM on August 10 Warren Ramsey, a contract HVAC technician, arrived in a white Ford Transit lacking permanent company markings and entered Jennifer's apartment.
- Carol Tucker found a packed, upright rolling suitcase tagged with Jennifer's name and a Southwest claim stub at a decommissioned septic riser on August 11 at 6:47 AM.
- Darlene Watson focused the investigation on the timing and construction of the scene - why the bag was placed, who packed it, and what the 10:51 PM Google search implied.
