- A man named Mueller walked the building in February, tested the crawl-space latch, observed Vicki’s 6:45 routine, and kept walking.
- On March 10 at 9:20 a.m. Mueller bought a discontinued battery for Vicki’s Nokia phone, paying cash and leaving the shop in under four minutes.
- Two days after the murder, Dana Jensen received a padded envelope postmarked March 11 containing Vicki’s phone and a handwritten note expressing condolence.
