Join Infinite and Brick for a guest-free deep dive into the language of music—how instruments “talk,” how arrangements create emotion, and why certain sounds carry meaning beyond the lyrics. From the way rhythm locks in the body to how melody speaks to the mind, they’ll break down what to listen for and how to understand what you’re hearing. They’ll also cover practical basics every artist should know before signing a music contract—terminology, common traps, and questions to ask—so you can protect your work and your future.
Homework Assignment:
Listen & Map the Instruments**: Pick one track you love and write down the main roles each instrument plays (rhythm, melody, harmony, texture). Note when each instrument enters and what changes emotionally.
Chord + Rhythm Check**: Find the chord progression (or listen for changes) and identify the song’s rhythmic “engine” (drums/groove/percussion). Write 3 observations about how the groove supports the melody.
Contract Prep Questions**: Choose a real contract clause you’ve seen (royalties, publishing, masters, exclusivity, term). Write:
What it means in plain language
What you think you’re giving up
5 questions you would ask before signing
We would LOVE to hear what you think. Please drop a line.
