Welcome to today’s Bible study.

In this episode of 1 Samuel 1 (KJV), we begin our verse-by-verse journey through the book of 1 Samuel as God prepares to raise up one of Israel's greatest prophets. This chapter highlights faithful prayer, trusting God in times of sorrow, and His power to answer according to His perfect will.

The chapter begins with Hannah, a woman deeply distressed because she is unable to have children while enduring constant provocation from Peninnah. Year after year, Hannah pours out her heart before the Lord at the tabernacle, praying earnestly for a son.

Eli the priest initially misunderstands Hannah's silent prayer, but after hearing her explanation, he blesses her. The Lord remembers Hannah, and she gives birth to a son named Samuel. In faithfulness to her vow, Hannah later brings Samuel to the tabernacle and dedicates him to the Lord for lifelong service.

The chapter concludes with Samuel remaining before the Lord under Eli's care, marking the beginning of God's work through the one who would become Israel's prophet, priest, and judge.

Through this chapter, we see key lessons about faithful prayer, trusting God's timing, keeping our promises to Him, and His faithfulness to accomplish His purposes.

Together, we will study this chapter verse by verse, exploring its historical context, theological depth, and spiritual lessons about prayer, faith, dedication, and God's sovereign plan.
