A kid asks for the secret to a long, happy life — and the answer is almost offensively simple: obey your parents. Starting in Ephesians 6 and Colossians 3, we widen the lens beyond "good kids" to shaping hearts that listen, respect authority, and live under God with joy.

Then we get honest about what discourages children. Colossians 3:21 warns against provoking them — guilt, comparisons, constant criticism, and correction that never notices effort. Discouragement makes kids stop trying, stop sharing, and stop believing they can grow.

Deuteronomy 6 offers a blueprint for family discipleship: love God first, then teach faith as an everyday way of life — at home, on the road, at bedtime, in the morning. We also cover Proverbs-based discipline that's consistent and age-appropriate, and the modern temptation to solve tantrums with screens.
