We explore the military campaigns of Senusret III, who pushed Egypt's borders into Nubia and built fortresses like Buhen, and the administrative reforms of Amenemhat I, who moved the capital to Itjtawy. On the cultural side, we discuss the exquisite jewelry of the 12th Dynasty, the realistic portraiture that replaced the idealized Old Kingdom style, and the literary masterpiece 'The Story of Sinuhe'.
