Breaking my leg has been one of the most painful moments in my life! Not only did it immediately disrupt everything, all the momentum I had, I wasn't prepared for the recovery time. 3 months of not walking turned into 4 months. Wheelchair, walker, crutches, re-learning to walk, physical therapy, lack of sleep, and the mental anguish. Second guessing myself and self worth. I wasn't prepared, I don't think anyone is, of how is it is to have your spirit broken. I pushed hard to get through that, and still, a year and a half later as I type this description, I'm still occasionally struggling with it. So thankful I've always had music in my life and my love of drumming to help me. (from August 27, 2024) The Drummergy Podcast is live and interactive show about life and music.
