Reality Check My Life | Midnight Snack | E29p2: When Broken People Mistake Light for Permission

If you’re listening to this late…
when the house is quiet, the dogs are asleep, and your body finally has room to have an opinion…
this one is for you.

Tonight isn’t philosophical.
It isn’t mystical.
It isn’t wrapped in pretty spiritual language to make it easier to swallow.

Tonight is just… true.

Because there’s a sentence I wish someone had given me when I was young—
a sentence that would’ve saved me years of confusion and self-blame:

There’s a difference between being luminous and being available.
But wounded people don’t know the difference.

In Part 2 of this Midnight Snack, I speak from biography—not theory—about what happens when warmth gets misread as access, when empathy gets treated like permission, and when “they were drawn to you” becomes victim-blaming dressed up as mysticism.

We talk about:

• how predators scan for kindness and boundarylessness
• why trauma survivors become hyper-attuned (vigilance ≠ seduction)
• how society sexualizes aliveness—especially in women
• how projection turns connection into extraction
• the difference between attention and consent
• the difference between magnetism and access
• why many embodied women grow thorns instead of dimming
• and how to live in sovereignty without becoming bitter

There’s a Threshold Bend walk in here—mist, woods, Bear, and that blue-gray dawn where everything feels holy—because the land tells the truth in a way people often don’t.

And we land where I live now:

Not fear.
Not hiding.
Not dimming.

Just clarity.

I shine.
And you don’t get to take.

If you’ve spent decades thinking you were complicit in your own harm because you were “too much,” “too bright,” or “too magnetic”… let this episode be a decoding.

You’re not too much.

You’re just bright.

And some people only know how to grab.

Goodnight, love.
