Sintesi dell'editore
Eric lives a normal life. He has a job. A girlfriend. He owns an apartment. He matters. And then he dies.
A couple of centuries later, Eric wakes up inside an advanced infantry robot whose AI core harbors his consciousness.
Eric is soon thrust into an experimental army unit known as the Bolt Eaters. Thrown into the latest cesspools of war and conflict across the world, the Bolt Eaters make short work of any opponents. It's almost a cakewalk for the high-tech robots.
When aliens decide to invade, stranding his unit in the middle of nowhere, Eric is forced to face the ultimate test with the machines he has come to know as brothers: a deadly game of cat and mouse played against a technologically superior, utterly alien foe - a game whose stakes include not just their lives, but the lives of every man, woman, and child on the planet.
Someone's gotta save humanity. It might as well be him.
Alien bioweapons. Robots with human minds. One man's fight to retain his humanity. AI Reborn.

saddly a dud.
I was really excited about this story, but the whole story line is really monotone. the author doesn't do a good job making you care about the characters, and the enemies are either too weak or too strong to make the battles interesting.

Pretty good
First part was very good but by the end of the third section very predictable and silly.

couldn't get into it
I just couldn't get into this. The book is 90% filler describing minutiae and boring dialogue. The characters aren't interesting; the technology is too advanced to be believable; the backstory regarding the war is derivative and uninteresting. I found myself skipping ahead chapters to see when it would get interesting before ultimately giving up. Also - and I feel bad saying this - but it doesn't help that the narrator has an annoying lisp.

AI Reborn
I enjoyed the entire book., however some of the words seemed unnecessary. The language made it impossible for me to pass the book on to my grandchildren while the subject matter was intriguing and exciting so would have been a good in every other way.
It was to bad in that way but for adults, the dilemma that was shown by the situation these poor men were put through and how they rose to they rose to the challenge was great!
The monsters were challenging and nearly impossible to overcome and I enjoyed that also.
I am 81 years old so please forgive my bias.

A.I. Reborn: Listen to the positive reviews! Thrilling Military science Fiction from Great Minds
Isaac Hooke is a genius, and Eric Martin is a great voice actor. This dynamic duo has produced a fantastic, magical epic saga (as magical as high tech Military Sci Fi can get). The action is continuous, and the characters are well developed. Every situation is handled with expertise by Isaac Hooke, and acted realistically by Eric Martin. Complex conversations between numerous characters are amazingly realistic, with each character having a different voice, and there is no need even for the dialogue tags to figure out who is who. I love the brilliant theme of a book about a group of A.I.’s who used to be human. Can’t wait for the movie!

pretty good
I do love me some military sci-fi and especially Mech sci-fi there's a lot to like about this book and there are a number of minor issues that detract from it but overall well worth the credit

I should have read the other reviews first.
This is my first book by Isaac Hooke. While I found this story line interesting the story telling was uninteresting. Little or no research was evident, even less imagination, dialog was basic. For a story set 200 years in the future the topic of conversation and tech in use was straight out of 2010. I may try another of his books but only because the author has written so many that I want to believe this one is not representative of his ability. A better performance could help but still could not save this.

couldnt get past the first three chapters
I tried, I really did, but I couldn't get past the first three chapters or so. Characters were formulaic, plot was stilting. It feels like a rehash of The Matrix or Freejack. Going to return this one too

fun book
I thought it was a fun book but the Slate character just about ruined it.
