The narrator’s voice isn’t right for this book
The story is fantastic, but the narrator’s voice is shaky and a bit gurgley. It’s just not easy to listen to her narrate for longer than a few minutes! I wish Philip Reeve narrated all the fever crumb series or if they stuck with Barnaby Edwards (who narrated all of the Mortal Engines series).

Brilliant Cliffhanger
This book is a beautiful second book in the Fever Crumb series. Beautifully written with mystery, surprising twists and just a dash of romance. A sweet coming of age story in its own way.
Except for the ending.
After many hours of enjoyable listening, I was dismayed by the ending. I was simply unprepared for the book to end so abruptly. In my opinion the ending was a shocking and unwanted twist for these well developed and lovable characters. Hopefully there is a third book.

Philip Reeve Continues To Improve
Although I was initially disappointed Philip Reeve did not narrate the second book Jenny Agutter did an incredible job.
The world Philip Reeve has created continues to deepen and enrichen- but he makes sure to only choose stories from the world that seem to need to be told. There is a great economy in his writing and you are able to see the world through the lens of each character as they become the narrator.

not the best in series but worth the read
fever's second adventure is far less jarring and exists as a sort of detective/ inventor novel for the series keeping a steady pace but somewhat slower than we are used to.

Wonderful
I love how the story does not have a "happy ending" ,such like life. I really have enjoyed this character development and look forward to what is next

Ok Story, Narration best with older characters
I was very entranced by "Fever Crumb" and I had high expectations for this sequel. The story itself was semi-entertaining. It did seem to spend a lot of time on build up, however.
The narration was best illustrated with older characters. The interpretation of Fever herself made it seem like she was about 80 years old, rather than in her teens.
Mini Spoiler about the next narrator in the next book....complete opposite. Older voices sound so contrived.

Interesting story and great performance
Great character and story development by the author. Narrator performance was excellent. I can see myself revisiting this in the future.

Hard to listen
The story was great unfortunately the Narration made it difficult to get into. I really wish the author would have narrated the entire series.

A web of intrigue
A change of narrator and change of scene. Fever has left London behind but like the sinister Octopus cartel it has its agents everywhere. Plots thicken, Angels call and the forgotten secrets of flight are rediscovered. While I found this to be the weakest book in the Fever Crumb series it is still worth a listen, as it links book one and three together. A good story, well narrated but not as pacy or exciting as the others in the series.

good story but
the narration is a bit off putting, the dodgy accent particularly the 'Scottish' one was a bit too distracting

Great narration and plot
I really enjoyed this sequel to Fever Crumb. The author has a great talent for conjuring a detailed and imaginative world. I like the main character and the narrator does a lot of different voices for different speaking parts. What’s particularly cool are the tiny details of how over time things from the past world are mis/interpreted post apocalypse, eg some of the explanations of technology and artifacts.
